Retreat at Darjeeling
Last year along with a few of our clients we went to Sundarban, the largest mangrove forest in the world. It was fun!
This time we decided to go to a place from where no one would ever want to return. It is the most serene and relaxing place in India which is Darjeeling. It had been quite a time, we did not take a break in between our busy work hours. So, the decision to keep away all the headaches and pressures of office and choosing Darjeeling as a place for relaxation was not at all wrong. All of our team members would agree to it too. We had a wonderful time over there.
It was a five-day trip and we felt blessed to see some mesmerizing sceneries. We went to see the amazing Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (H.M.I.), Himalayan Zoological Park, Tiger Hill, Batasia Loop, Ghoom Station and Mirik Lake. The greeneries of the place instilled inside us some sort of peace and tranquility we were longing for a long time.
I am sharing some of the breathtaking views in Darjeeling.
Tiger Hill, the most famous place for offering a panoramic view of the sun rising over Kanchenjunga, is a bit away from Darjeeling town. This place is known as ‘Window of the Sunrise’. We saw from there the beauty of the entire Eastern Himalayan peaks. Unfortunately, we missed seeing the golden glow when the rising sun sprinkles its changing shades on the snow.
We visited the Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, the largest high altitude zoo in India. There was the Siberian Tiger, Himalayan Black Deer, Panda, Llama, Monkey, and birds like Parrots, Monal, Emerald Dove, maroon Oriole etc. to entertain the visitors.
Some of our colleagues went with their family. Look how they had enjoyed their time over there.
Some wonderful memories in Batasia Loop!
On the way to Mirik Lake, we spent some time in Gopaldhara Tea State, one of the highest tea estates in Darjeeling.
Overall it was a great experience to visit such a wonderful place with the team. The stunning beauty and spectacular view of Himalayas will remain inside our memory for times to come especially when the evening clouds used the roll in, we often found ourselves above them looking out over nature’s stunning beauty. The smoky mountain view is absolutely breathtaking as we relax on the hotel rooftop in one of the many rocking chairs. We eagerly are looking forward to the next trip.
